22 May, 2025 - The Royal Military Institute of Manitoba (RMIM) held its annual general meeting at Bldg 61, CFB Winnipeg with 27 attendees. LCol (ret’d) Barb Gillis, outgoing President, passed the gavel to BGen (ret’d) Eldren Thuen, incoming President. Following the AGM, attendees enjoyed some snacks and a talk on the Naval Reserve by Cdr Dan Smith, recently installed Commanding Officer at HMCS Chippewa. Our sincere thanks to Barb for the excellent leadership over her term as President.

22 April, 2025 - Four Royal Military Institute of Manitoba (RMIM) members received awards from the RMIM for their long-time contributions to the military community. Alan Parkin received “The Institute Award” for his many years of service to support military-related organizations, including the RMIM as a Board member. Dale Watts, David Stones and Robert Poirier received “Twice the Citizen” awards for success in both their part-time military and civilian careers. About 60 family members, friends and RMIM members attended the event which was held in Room 200 of the Legislative Building. A reception followed the awards ceremony in the rotunda.
